2016 Gestalt Woodside Pinot Noir
|Region||Adelaide Hills, SA|
Making wines they love to drink, Craig Turnbull and Anthony Pearce, have taken the knowledge they learnt working for others and throw it out the window with their joint venture Gestalt. Sourcing fruit from organic growers in the Adelaide Hills, Barossa Valley, and Clare Valley, Anthony produces contemporary wines with minimal intervention, and lots of care. The name Gestalt perfectly encapsulates what Anthony’s wines are all about “the organised whole being greater than the sum of its part.” With a focus on minimal intervention winemaking, Anthony processed and vinifies each individual parcel of fruit on its own, regardless of whether his is making a single varietal wine or a blend. With the idea being to only create the wine at bottling by utilising the perfect component of each individual parcel to create his finished wines.
Utilising unfashionable varietal such as Savagnin, and Petit Manseng, alongside more classical varietals of the regions such as Gewürztraminer, Pinot Noir, Grenache, Shiraz, and Mourvedre, they have crafted a fantastic range of blends and single vineyard wines, very much in the style of the new generation of Basket Range producers.

|Wine||A wonderful Pinot Noir from Adelaide Hills. Ripe red fruit on the nose with hints of woody herbs and forest floor. Complex palate of cooked figs and fresh raspberries. Balanced acid and smooth tannins. This is a fine wine to be enjoyed with fine friends.|
