David Boden –
Intriguingly named. Actually from Kenneth Slessor’s famous poem, Five Bells. A reflection on the death by drowning of Slessor’s friend in Sydney Harbour.
The 2019 follows on from the stunning 2018. Always a tough gig, like a musician trying to follow on from a debut hit single.
A lovely drinking wine with bright cherry hues in the glass. Penetrating flavours with plenty of moreish, juicy fruit. The wine has sophistication and complexity. A real treat for those that love a wine with confident use of carbonic maceration, a technique that seems to suit fruit from the Geelong/Bellarine Peninsula/Drumborg regions in Victoria. Highly drinkable with qualities to think about and really savour.
