2019 Billy Button Rosso
|Producer||Billy Button. Alpine Region, Vic|
|Status||Sourced form various sustainable vineyards|
Established in 2014, Billy Button is named after the yellow native flowers shaped like balls that bounce on the tops of the Alpine Valleys. With a wealth of established vineyards in the region tended to by dedicated growers, there was no reason for Billy Button to establish their own vineyards. Instead, they work with a number of highly accomplished local growers to secure some of the best fruit available in the region. The wines they make focus on varietal diversity.
|Wine||A textural blend of predominantly Italian varieties created to drink now. The 'Wildflower" range are value wines made to offer immediate enjoyment to the consumer. The Rosso is a flavoursome blend of Shiraz and Dolcetto. The Shiraz and Dolcetto were fermented separately in open tubs using wild yeasts. They were gently hand plunged twice a day until dry. The components were then pressed directly to a combination of large format old oak and flexcubes. Components were kept separate until blending, filtration and bottling. Plumy ripe fruit and maraschino cherry teamed with lovely fine tannins, and offers a tasty balance of juicy and savoury flavours, making it perfect for any occasion.|
|Tasting Note||Red fruits - Savoury - Easy|
