South by South West is a small-batch artisan winemakerbased in the Margaret River wine region of Western Australia. Founders Mijan Patterson and Livia Maiorana describe themselves a contemporary, meandering négociant working in an age-old profession. They craft wines of excellence and difference that combine respect for the land, with innovative viticultural practices, and both traditional and contemporary winemaking techniques. Each wine is allowed to develop its personality in a small batch where it receives the right amount of attention; a personality that is founded on the fruit, and realised through the way it is produced, bottled and labelled. In keeping with the traditional aspects of winemaking, their style is focused on minimal intervention to showcase regions, varietals, and vineyards in their rightful form.
Supporting Mij and Liv, in ways large and small, are an extended family of growers, friends and collaborators, including Meeka their rescue dog! They firmly believe that great wine comes from close collaboration and our wines are as much a result of their support as our hard work.
Mij and Liv are members of the Conservation Council of WA and we also support the Western Australian Forrest Alliance, Save Our Marine Life, and Surf Life Saving Australia. They consider and try to minimise environmental impacts in respect of what they produce, they care about their social responsibility within the south-west. In short: South by South West is all about sourcing the best fruit. The best fruit grows in the best environment, so they want to protect that by limiting their environmental footprint where possible.

|Wine||Margaret River subregion Wallcliffe Sauvignon Blanc Semillon Field Blend. Co-fermented & wild fermented. Blend of 1 to 5 days on skins. Barrel fermented and matured for 6 months in French Oak Barriques. Flinty almost saline notes, smoothly presented, with extra-long mouthfeel. Un-fined and coarse filtration only. Minimal Sulfur added. No other adds. A skinsey, textural wine with notes of ginger, lemon peel and herbs and a balanced level of acidity and saltiness on the finish.|
