About | Inspired by a European ‘vineyard and surf’ van trip, Ben and Naomi Gould set about converting their ‘Wilyabrup’ vineyard to organics and biodynamics. They haven’t looked back, and now have a second vineyard ‘Quindalup’, both vineyards including winery and in-house bottling are certified organic. Biodynamic veggie gardens, beehives and free range chooks scratching around the vines all coexist to create a natural way of farming and delicious tasting wine. |

Wine | The blend this year is Sauvignon Blanc (51%) and Chenin Blanc (49%). After handpicking, each variety is naturally fermented in stainless steel, blended and bottled without fining. The wine's delicate pink tinge is a natural legacy of the grapes' colour at harvest (both the varieties are prone to pinking in Australia). A commercial winery would remove the colour using a chemical addition, but not here. This is what you get when something relatively simple over-delivers on pleasure. A juicy, racy, gluggable white with stone fruit and grassy notes that well delivers on its promise. |
