Apollonis Authentic Meunier Blanc de Noirs Brut NV
|Status||High Environmental Value (HVE) Certificate, the highest award recognising respect and care for the land, the environment and its biodiversity.|
The origins of Champagne Apollonis can be traced back through Michel Loriot’s family to the 17th Century when his ancestors started growing vines in 1675. Found in the small village of Festigny, the Apollonis Estate owns 7 hectares of vines comprising 20 or so seperate plots planted for the most part with Pinot Meunier (80%), some Chardonnay (18%) and a little Pinot Noir (2%).
This small, family-run estate is producing high quality, minimal intervention cuvees and, as far as we know, Michel Loriot is the only Champagne producer who broadcasts classical music in his vineyards and cellars!
This highly awarded Champagne house is new into Australia!
|Wine||Max Allen, Gourmet Traveller August 2019 Edition “Champagnes from 100% pinot meunier aren’t common, but can be delicious: scents of grilled nuts, hints of ironbark honey, a touch of peach, long and savoury. A rare treat”|
Vine and Bubble Magazine, Issue 2 “Gold in the glass, the nose presents a classic meunier profile with its ample reserves revealing peaty/smokey and dark rye aromas. On the palate, it appears quite rich and ‘fat’ with fruit mince flavours, broad execution, and discernable silky texture. A flavourful medium-length finish”
